VEXILAR SERVICE

 Vexilar has some of the best customer service out there.

Vexilar is top notch in service. And is not a unique comment from a Vexilar user.

They don't play games with the customer, they built it...they fix it. Every Vexilar ever made..is reparable yet today...as long as it's in one piece...mostly.  I seen a Vex smucked by a sled at 60 mpr...not good...but it was repaired and runs well today. They brought it back to life.

One should factor the service into the price of any unit, and then see how economical they really are over time. I can't say that with many other electronics companies, whom intentionally faze out models in cycles to beat the warranty system, and in the end, just stick you with the bill.

Vexilar products are built so well that I have never even needed customer service.  I do have an old fl-8 with the middle gain button.  The readout has dimmed a lot.  Could I send that in and have new bulbs put in?

Ive used all of the main manufacturers of ice fishing equipment and found all of them to be great. I had a 4 year old Marcum camera that broke and sent it in and they fixed it no charge. Same with St croix, Vexilar, Jiffy, and Strikemaster.

i've told this story b4... and i now run a lowrance 520c... but, i still have an old fl8.  anyway, i had an issue w/ the motor squealing in an fl8 after it was recovered from the bottom of the lake along w/ the vehicle it went down in.  i took it apart thinking i could figure out what was wrong and fix it myself.  bad idea... called the vex guy.  explained my situation.  he laughed and send "send it in".  i literally thru the pieces/parts ..cut wires and all in a bag and stuck it in a box and mailed it to them.  he called me a few days later and kind of scolded me for taking it apart.  but, said "don't do that again... please".  they had replaced the motor and the seal and were sending it back to me.  FREE OF CHARGE... the only cost to me was the shipping to get it to them.  their customer service is 2nd to none.

Yes, Vexilar is superb.  My thanks to Corey Studer and all of Vexilar for the things they've done for me over the years.

Just wish they'd jump into the GPS market!  If you see this post Corey, get crackin!
