lowtance vs hummingbird

From what I read a horse apiece.  Both are good, with hummiingbird getting the nod because of customer service.  Lawrence will not service a discountinued model, and  they seem to change their lineup every 3 to 4 years.

+1   IIMO you cant go wrong!!  I hear alot of pros are running humminbirds these days!  in the past lawrence was the finder. But way back in was humminbird. So I guess its your own personal choice!!  good luck I  would take either one, hell humminbird in front lawrance in back.

I put a 898c si combo on mine.  I hope its a good graph!  The reviews on it were pretty positive....

I know someone that had an HDS 10 and an 1197 on his boat at the same time.  The Bird was a bit more user friendly, but the Lowrance sonar was a bit easier, clearer, and easier to interpret (or so he said).  Bird has the nod with customer service and they now accept Lakemaster chips.  Is is truly a personal preference and $$ issue to me.
