I heard a bit on KFYR on my way home from work about a team being DQ'd from the DWC?  They said more to come after an investigation.  After I got home I talked to a buddy who said he heard a father/son  was DQ'd for stuffing sinkers in there fish?  Anyone have any info/details on this?

They announced this at the final results at the tourney. It is true. I just don't know the full details. I think the team was in the #140's or something like that.

I think that was their team number, not how they placed.

Word is, after the first day fish were brought in, lindy weights were found in fish that were cleaned.  They had no way of knowing which team it was because after being weighed all fish went into the bin together.  So second day, after your fish were weighed, they went back into your assigned numbered bag and were taken to the cleaning station in that fashion.  Rumor has it, lindy weights were found again and in this team's particular fish and the way the tourney officials did it left no doubt as to whose fish they were.  Unfortunate people feel the need to do this and it was announced that this team number had been dq'd for both days weights.  That is the story I received.

It's a calling to something greater. And that transforms the places that we stand into something more than a cropfield or a pasture or a mountain. It makes that place Hallowed Ground."

You know you always hear of people doing this but I never really thought it really happened. When I heard them annouce this at the weigh-in I almost fell over. I really feel bad for the kid in this incident. What a way to be tought.

Just because it was a father/son doesn't mean the son was a kid.  They should be blacklisted from all fishing tourneys.

That's what happens when money is involved.

Perfect example of why I do not like hunting and fishing tournaments or contests of any kind. Hunt and fish for food or fun, it aint suppose to be a contest!

I have been told the kid is 12 or 13 years old. Do you think these guys will get charged with felony? They tried to cheat to win $6,000. Fraud? Theft? I'm not sure what the charge would be but it sure sounds like a crime. I don't think the kid should be charged or least not as an adult.

I don't get it.  Why put your son in that position?
