TON 2.0 Developer API

The TON API opens up nearly the full range of TON 2.0's functionality to external developers by providing programming interfaces to access, query, retrieve, and even update TON content.


The API will likely launch a few months after the official launch of TON 2.0 and will contain some very exciting features.  There will be 2 primary interfaces, a public one (no key required) and an authorized one (developer key required)

These are some of the things developers will be able to do with the API:

• Retrieve articles from the TON 2.0 database via search queries, categories, geo/region data, and tags
• Retrieve fishing reports and hunting reports
• Query the TON Geo/Region database for information on geo-tagged items
• Retrieve photos and videos
• Add fishing reports, hunting reports and more
• Insert data into the TONMetaBase (a wide database for the storage of various meta-data) - upload lake stock reports, fishing tournament results, and more
• Upload articles, photos and videos
• Create maps from TON Geo data
• ....and more!!!

Public API
The public API is a simple api for data retrieval and provides interfaces in the form of RSS Feeds, structured XML Formats, and a javascript API for delivering pre-formatted HTML for your site

Authenticated API
Provides a SOAP and a REST interface and gives access to more TON Content, and the capability to add data into TON including fishing reports, tags, map data and the TONMetaBase


Code
As part of the API, we will provide some pre-built classes (starting with PHP) that act as wrappers to the TON API that you can easily include in your applications.   In addition, TON 2.0 will be releasing as Open Source to the public a number of TON Built components
