Bighorn Sheep, Elk and Moose Seasons Proposed
The Northern Badlands Chapter (NBC) of the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) will hold its Annual Banquet and Auction at the Bismarck AMVETS on Saturday, February 23.
The Mule Deer Foundation is a nonprofit wildlife habitat conservation organization dedicated to ensuring the future of mule and blacktail deer and their habitats. With 10,000 active members and more than 80 chapters nationwide, including 4 in North Dakota, the MDF has conserved thousands of acres since its inception in 1988.
Local chapters conduct annual banquets that feature a social hour and dinner followed by a lively benefit auction. The chapters are developed solely by local volunteers in communities who are concerned about the future of mule deer.
The Foundation has funded critical wildlife and habitat conservation projects for the last 20 years. Examples include management-related research, habitat acquisitions, conservation easements, habitat improvement projects and conservation education programs. Over the last 3 years the NBC of the MDF have donated over $18,000 to the ND Game and Fish Department P.L.O.T.S. program to conserve and develop habitat while gaining public access to over 8,500 acres of private lands in western ND mule deer country. Opening these private parcels to public hunting have also contributed in unlocking access to >10,000 acres of state and federal lands that have previously been difficult at best for public access. The Mule Deer Foundation also publishes a bi-monthly magazine, MDF, which features articles on mule deer conservation, hunting, and chapter activities and projects as such mentioned.
NBC Committee Chair, Ryan Krapp, would like to invite you to the social hour that begins at 5pm., followed by the banquet at 6 pm. The fundraising auction to follow will feature several fine rifles, bows, outstanding limited-edition wildlife prints, a Fort Knox gun safe and other top-quality items. Proceeds from the evening will benefit MDF habitat conservation projects.
Just for buying your ticket in advance for this event we will enter you into an Early Bird Raffle featuring a Weatherby Vanguard riffle in your caliber of choice! There will also be some member only raffles, so please consider being a member in the conservation efforts of the MDF. Tickets are $20 per meal (kids 12 and under FREE) and $35 for a one-year MDF membership (optional) which includes subscriptions to our publications.
